An opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Speech Pathologist to join a supportive speech pathology team providing high quality services Aged Care and rehab patients in a busy and dynamic acute and subacute setting. This specialist position predominantly works across the inpatient acute Aged Care and rehab stream providing assessment and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders. At times will be required to work flexibly across other inpatient acute clinical areas. As a senior Speech Pathologist, this position provides supervision and training to other staff, consults within specialist multidisciplinary teams and works on quality improvement projects within the team. - acute Aged Care setting at Campbelltown Hospital and
- sub acute rehabilitation setting at Camden Hospital Rehab Unit (CRU)As a specialist senior clinician the Speech Pathologist will require a high level clinical expertise to provide supportive clinical supervision to staff is required to ensure best possible outcomes for Aged Care and rehabilitation patients. Flexibility to work across a range of acute inpatient clinical streams is required and a willingness to work across sites to meet the needs of both the acute and subacute caseload.As a senior clinician the Speech Pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of Aged Care and rehabilitation patients .They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.Where you'll be working

View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in the management of swallowing and communication disorders in Aged Care and rehabilitation clinical areas.
- Demonstrated postgraduate experience and skills in instrumental dysphagia assessment (VFSS and/or FEES).
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, supervision and education for staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process
- Demonstrated experience in providing consultation and education to colleagues and external parties that adheres to EBP principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
