A supportive and prominent Federal Government Department is looking to engage an experienced Splunk Engineer to maintain the overall Splunk architecture and the effectiveness and efficiency of the SIEM. The successful Splunk Engineer will secure a 12 month contract with the option to extend for a further 24 months aligned with a rewarding hourly rate.
The successful Splunk Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Manage Splunk Cloud environment application updates, dashboarding, integrations and health checks
- Onboard new data/log sources
- Run queries and searches to inform SOC requests
- Perform data quality and data model assessments on a periodic basis
- Maintain Heavy Forwarding logging infrastructure
The successful Splunk Engineer will have experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications such as Splunk User, Core, Architect, ES and SOAR are preferred
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors. Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk Cloud and Splunk SOAR
- Experience with case, incident and ticket management Experience with ITSM tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
