The Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) team’s vision is to leverage analytics and information to enhance the financial wellbeing of our customers and to provide richer customer experiences. We provide a range of services to our internal customers across all business units of the Group.
You are a part of a team of high performing engineers that contribute to the Systems Engineering practice, focused on design and realisation of Cloud based technologies and platforms to drive outcomes across CDAO. The Staff System Engineer position plays an important role in providing technical and end to end expertise within our ECDP crew, accountable for providing wide variety of skills to the Strategic delivery to build scalable Cloud based infrastructure for Data Platforms, migration from on-prem platforms to Cloud and decommission old services.
Knowledge of “how” to construct scalable, reliable, and resilient cloud infrastructure
Analyse business objectives and translate to technical implementation components
As a cloud technical expert provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team
Role model the adoption and promotion of engineering principles, patterns, standards and guidelines
A self-starter, who can work well within a team environment, proactively sharing knowledge, information, problems and solutions
Lead Level 3 or above support and technical troubleshooting activity
Keep abreast of emerging technology and IT services that may benefit the Group
Can embody the culture and principles of DevSecOps, Secure by Design, and Well Architected.
Technical skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and technologies. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
Technical proficiency in AWS services
Strong experience with infrastructure as code pipelines and automation
Expertise in source control and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Teamcity, Jenkins, Git Actions, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Artifactory, ArgoCD
Strong skills and experience of scripting/programming language such as Python, Go, Java, Bash, Typescript as well as good Windows/Linux Server experience.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and hand-on experience with Snowflake will be beneficial
Experience with data integration solution using an ETL tool such as Ab Initio
Hands on experience in guiding and contributing to the evolution of target architecture from current to desired state across multiple projects.
