About the opportunity
This role sees the defense and retention of revenues by providing strategic operational and problem-solving leadership. You will ensure adherence to state compliance requirements and operational standards. Lead the establishment and implementation of comprehensive compliance and safety programs for a variety of business needs. Analyse compliance, safety, and performance reports to track, audit, and enhance operational efficiency, aligning with enterprise KPIs. Apply lean principles to proactively address negative operational trends and collaborate with key stakeholders to foster continuous improvement. Drive transformative safety and compliance initiatives to elevate service performance within the Startrack Express network.
What you’ll deliver with us
You'll make significant contributions and forge a rewarding career in a robust yet empowering environment. This role requires regular travel to our various hubs in NSW/ACT, to oversee the development and execution of compliance and safety initiatives, including COR, health and safety, injury management, and training.
You’ll also
- Ensure accurate processes, minimum standards, and effective reporting for the business, whilst driving compliance within State Operations to meet enterprise KPIs
- Conduct internal state audits, develop action plans, and implement compliance and safety programs for positive operational change
- Audit safety events to achieve enterprise safety KPIs and provide necessary training and support
- Manage pallet processes to minimize financial losses with external suppliers
- Execute programs & strategies within approved budgets
- Support network in achieving operational and financial performance through continuous improvements

- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across levels and functions, contributing to business improvements

About you
As a dedicated leader, you guide teams with an analytical approach towards operational success, emphasizing compliance and efficiency. Your strategic thinking and attention to detail drive steady growth and meaningful change. By leveraging technology and fostering teamwork, you navigate challenges to deliver consistent results in line with business objectives.
You’ll also have
- Comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations and their impact on Australian operational requirements
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, adept at relationship management and report writing
- Experience in operational roles and knowledge of LEAN principles
- Proficiency in interpreting complex data sets and familiarity with Service Level Agreement (SLA) frameworks and audit/compliance programs
- Background in business process engineering is advantageous
- Collaborative approach, effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels and coordinating their timelines for key projects
- Proven capability in leading change, emphasizing safety, accountability, and customer focus
- Understanding of Industrial Relations (IR) and Operations Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation
- Your own vehicle and the ability to travel as per requirements
