About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Statistician and Data Analyst to join an existing team in delivering effective statistical and analytical support. Working with a high level of autonomy, key duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Leads interaction between research and technical staff regarding workflows, deadlines and analysis requirements to ensure SRA outputs are supported by appropriate experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Manages the collation and curation of industry productivity data
- Manages the maintenance of Data License Agreements with key industry parties.
- Coordinates overflow workload with biometry team and/or external consultants as appropriate to achieve deadlines.
- Experimental design and statistical analysis to support internal SRA research outcomes.
- Review of experimental design and research results/data to support project development and management for external R&D investments and partnerships – including in collaboration with partners.
- SRA business statistical analysis and support.
- Support digital enablement of SRA products and solutions (digitising products).
You will have strong analytical abilities and enjoy the challenge of finding solutions to wide ranging problems. There is a strong focus on delivering results, achieving project goals as well as meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
It is essential that you have:
- A Master’s Degree in Statistics or related discipline. A PhD would be highly regarded;
- Experience in statistical consultancy and/or analysis of data in a professional environment, specifically in agricultural science would be highly regarded;
- Experience with experimental designs, generalised and linear mixed models; and
- Programming aptitude with specialist statistical packages such as R or SAS, ASReml or Genstat.
