What do you need to bring to the table?
This role is responsible for managing the receipting, storing, picking, packing and material transfer of goods.
To be successful in the role you will be highly organised and adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to juggle ad-hoc requests whilst still achieving the set tasks of the day.
You will be solutions focused with an ability to think quickly to drive positive supply chain outcomes and will possess a customer focused mindset. In addition, you will be able to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders internally, including supply chain, logistics, customer service, sales and finance.
The role is full-time and reports to the Manager – Purchasing at our modern manufacturing facility in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast.
Salary based on skills and experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain inventory and material control systems
- Supervise, develop and drive performance of the Storesperson
- Replenish consumables to the production floor (using Kanban and other replenishment models)
- Identify and implement supply chain improvements and address stock management issues promptly
- Ensure products are scanned and placed in correct location
- Provide logistics support to ensure service levels are met
- Ensure systems and inventories are accurate in the ERP system.
- Maintain stock security and develop strategies to improve where required
- Manage regular cycle counts and stocktakes, identifying and rectifying inventory control issues
- Liaise with local and national freight companies when required
- Supervise & assist in the unloading of trucks and shipping containers as required
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated inventory control experience and an understanding of its effects on the business
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- Solutions-focused with an ability to think quickly to drive positive supply chain outcomes
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience using Kanban preferred
