Our client M Strata Group Pty Ltd T/A Neighbourly Strata provides comprehensive strata management services, including financial management, defect management, meetings, by-law enforcement, common property management, insurance, dispute resolution, and sustainability initiatives. They also manage community and building management committees (BMCs), offering tailored solutions for complex property needs.
M Strata Group Pty Ltd T/A Neighbourly Strata is looking to fill a full time permanent position for a position of Strata Accountant. M Strata Group has a team of professionals committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
The primary purpose of the Strata Accountant position at M Strata Group Pty Ltd T/A Neighbourly Strata is to manage and oversee the financial activities of various strata schemes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing accurate and timely financial reports.. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, specifically within the strata industry. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients effectively.
This position is vital for ensuring the smooth financial operations of strata properties and assisting in achieving the company’s objectives of providing comprehensive and tailored strata management solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the strata industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and strata management regulations.
In this role your main responsibilities include:
Financial Management: Prepare and manage financial statements, budgets, and levy notices for strata schemes.
Accounts Receivable and Payable: Handle all aspects of accounts receivable and payable, including levy collections and payments to suppliers.
Financial Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts for strata schemes to assist with long-term financial planning and decision-making.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure all tax obligations are met for each strata scheme.
Investment Management: Advise strata committees on investment strategies for sinking funds and other reserves to maximize returns while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Strata Schemes Management Act and associated regulations.
Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with strata committees, owners, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Audit Preparation: Assist with the preparation of financial documents for annual audits.
Reporting: Generate regular financial reports and provide insights to strata managers and committees.
Key Competencies:

• Strong understanding of trust accounting principles and regulations.
• Detailed knowledge of Strata Management software (PIQ & Strata Master).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial matters.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Accounting Software skills, with the ability to pick up other software quickly
