The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Strategic Business Planning Manager to join our Finance team on a Permanent Full Time basis.
Reporting to the Head of Integrated Business Planning, you will be leading the provision of Strategic Business Planning and advice, long-term planning activities and oversee corporate & asset modelling functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Integrated Business Planning to create planning objectives that are in line with Corporate Strategy and enhance overall business performance
- Support the business in achieving performance results in accordance with the specified targets, deliver presentations to the leadership team, highlighting implications for business strategies
- Use monthly financial performance reports to address evolving business conditions, taking the lead in responding to the long-term implications of these changes, and offering guidance to senior leaders regarding both short-term and long-term targets
- Lead the preparation and execution of timetables and logistics around planning processes
- Oversee the long-term planning and modelling processes
- Continuously assess and enhance above processes, implement tools and technologies that streamline workflows and improve accuracy
- Oversee the provision of financial insights to the business that guide strategic decisions and resource allocation
- Lead a small team, identify, build and develop team talent and capability
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or CFA designation preferred)
- Several years of experience in Strategic Business Planning, budgeting, forecasting, or related roles
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and insights to diverse audiences
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex business challenges
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect financial insights to broader business objectives
- Leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead planning initiatives

The Finance Division is responsible for all corporate financial activities that are related to the functioning, governance or consolidation of the group as a whole. The division is responsible for the provision of effective financial accounting and support functions to the internal business, and value add, revenue generating services to external entities.
To help APA power ahead, the team is accountable for providing financial performance reporting services across APA, including performance reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, system enhancement proposals, processes improvements, and providing quality advice to the business.
