About the opportunity
We have an exciting new permanent role for an experienced and high-performing professional with a passion for innovation and improvement. This is a great opportunity to be part of business improvement initiatives in one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic councils.
You will join a dynamic team leading service delivery reviews and implementing outcomes, enhancing our business through targeted projects and providing insight to decision-makers. Working across the organisation at all levels, you will identify, analyse and present key Financial and Business data to support the continuous improvement of the business.
You will be the key Financial and data analyst resource for our industry-leading Better Practice Reviews program.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Degree qualifications in an appropriate field
- In-depth relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience in Strategic Financial analysis and modelling
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts with the ability to apply this knowledge to recommend financial management improvements
- Demonstrated experience in business operations and process analysis
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and communicate key Financial and non-financial data to identify business unit costs and Business improvement opportunities
- Ability to negotiate and identify possible outcomes with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Strong understanding of local government operations and/or local government management accounting
- Previous finance business partner experience with the ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships at senior management level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with TechnologyOne or another large ERP system.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,172.61 per week
- 35-hour working week
