Strategic Sourcing Manager, Projects
About the role
The Downer Business Services Centre (BSC) provides finance related support to our operating businesses. We do this by focusing on our BSC operating discipline “The BSC Way” to enable improved customer outcomes and value return to the business. This is a permanent full time role based in either our North Ryde NSW, Melbourne CBD or Milton QLD offices.
The purpose of the Strategic Sourcing Manager is to understand overall customer needs within the project and to develop and manage the procurement strategies to ensure value for money, high levels of service and compliance with procedures and professional best practice. As well as to manage the procurement RFx sourcing activities for the project in connection with Project team and SME's.
The key deliverables of the role include:
- Ensuring procurement goals are achieved across defined project procurement activities.
- Effective internal customer and supplier management, ensuring that established contracts meet business requirements
- Promote and ensure project procurement activities are compliant to Downer Standards
- Drive Cost reductions
- Overall spend controlled and managed under contract
- Number of RFx and contracts managed
- Engineering &/or Commerce Degree preferred
- Preferrable, Post Graduate studies in Procurement, MICPS preferred.
- 5 to 10 years experience as a Procurement Projects/ Contracts / Commercial Role/s
- Experience in managing procurement within major construction projects
- Excellent Communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage cross functional teams and stakeholder groups
- Ability to work to long term road maps with numerous projects running concurently.
