Our client is a respected and values-led industry superannuation fund that generates exceptional retirement outcomes for its members. This newly created Strategy position reports directly to the CEO and supports the border ELT with strategic and tactical priorities of the fund.
You must bring a strong commercial focus and build strong working relations with the fund’s internal stakeholders, including the board, CEO, and ELT, and, on behalf of the CEO, leaders of business units throughout the fund. External stakeholders, including advisers, working groups, consultants, partners, external auditors, boards and board committees, and day-to-day contact with all regulators (including AISC and APRA).
Key accountabilities for the role include:
- Overall accountability for the management of the CEO Office
- Liaise with the Board, Executive, and ELT to drive, manage, track and report on CEO Programs
- Responsible for the financial control of CEO Programs, including budget management, monitoring and control.
- Responsible for the Executive Committee and ELT agenda, including running meetings, delivering minutes and tracking actions.
- Manage and sponsor major corporate change projects as required, including case development, option papers, obtaining Executive support, stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Manage the strategic business planning and execution process as the primary liaison.
- Partner with Finance on the annual budgeting process aligned to the corporate strategic planning process and development of financial and non-financial metrics to deliver the strategic plan.
- Preparing and presenting material to facilitate Boards and Executive approvals and monitoring of the strategic plan.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs team to update or pivot the strategy the fund is best positioned to respond to and manage regulatory change
- Collaborate with the Risk team to ensure risk assessments are considered and mitigated on key strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Communications and HR teams to develop communication plans to ensure all employees are aware of the strategic plan and understand how their roles play a part in achieving the strategic plan
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in superannuation, financial services and strategy with a proven track record of success in managing corporate change
- Successful track record of strategic leadership supporting the CEO and ELT
- Strong capability to work with multiple senior stakeholders (internal and external)
- Strategic thinker and proficient in decision making and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing engagement with all regulators (including AISC and APRA) both from a strategic level and hands-on operational level
- Highly organised and able to prioritise and plan work, manage conflicting responsibilities and achieve outcomes with tight timeframes.
- Proven ability to influence, advise and support leaders and managers of the business across a range of complex human resource, organisational and employee relations issues.
