Welcome to the Team

The Value EngineeringStrategy Manager role is part of a newly formed strategy team within the Woolworths Group. The team is focused on improving capital value outcomes for the Group by applying strategic principles and methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and executing large-scale transformation initiatives, working in an agile environment and improving return on investment for multi-million dollar projects.

What you’ll do 

As the Strategy Manager - Value Engineering you will be responsible for leading and managing the development and implementation of Value Engineering initiatives across the organisation.You will have a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic plans, as well as a deep understanding of strategic or Value Engineering principles and methodologies.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

• Develop and implement Value Engineering strategies and plans to improve the organisation's cost structure and operational efficiency
• Identify and prioritise opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement Value Engineering initiatives
• Track and measure the progress and success of Value Engineering initiatives
• Communicate the results of Value Engineering initiatives to senior management
• Stay up-to-date on the latest Value Engineering trends and best practices globall

What you’ll bring

You will utilise the ability to think strategically and innovatively and will leverage strong stakeholder management skills as key relationships with senior business leaders are developed. Team members own the entire development and deployment of a portfolio of large-scale transformation initiatives across the organisation, driving them through to execution.

Key Criteria

• Minimum of 4 years experience with Tier 1 or boutique consulting firm with promotion.
• Well-developed consulting and problem-solving toolkit.
• A proven analytical and creative mindset that brings clarity to ambiguity.
• Strong end-to-end project or program management skills.
• Proven experience in managing the whole or parts of an end-to-end multi-million dollar transformation project/s across a large organisation and geography.

Candidates with prior experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Strategic Productivity or Cost Optimisation Programs
• Retail / FMCG Strategic Programs and Transformation
• Technology & Digital Transformation 
• Spend Analytics / Financial Modelling 
• Process Optimisation
