We have an exciting stand alone opportunity for a Payroll Accountant to join our business at an exciting time and work in a collaborative and supported team culture. Be guided by the People and Culture Business Partner and the Financial Controller.
This is a fixed term contract until December 2024, based in Sydney, Norwest - close to the train station.
Self-directed and a subject matter expert, who takes development, engagement, well-being, and progression seriously will thrive in this close knit team environment. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and tax obligations related to payroll processing. Understanding of Australian and New Zealand Payroll Legislation, audits and trends.

Principle Accountabilities
Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Journal Entries:
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to payroll accounts.
- Maintain accurate records for audit trails, superannuation and Leave provision.
- Prepare & record payroll-related journal entries, verify payroll data/ adjustments.
Budget Responsibilities and Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, focusing on payroll expenses.
- Financial analysis regarding payroll costs, saving opportunities and compliance.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll-related accounts.
Skills and Experience Required
- Solid Payroll Accounting experience in a stand alone role.
- Exposure to Australian /New Zealand Superannuation.
- Understand leave liability, leave provisions, on cost principles.
- Aware of white-collar awards (Clerks; sales; professional)
- Ability to manage payroll in an effective and efficient way.
- High attention to detail, numerical and analytical ability with advanced excel skills.
