A long-standing Civil and Structural Engineering firm is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join the team at their Toowoomba office. They service a wide range of areas, including South-East, South-West, Western and Central Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

This role is a hands-on role and will see you designing and performing calculations for structural works, but also preparing fee proposals, working with junior engineers, coordinating with other designers and drafters, directly liaising with clients and contractors, performing structural inspections, writing reports and preparing details for drawings as required.

The successful candidate will possess several skills and qualifications. Three plus years of experience in a similar capacity is required, along with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. RPEQ is highly desirable, but not essential and we would welcome applicants who wish to work towards this. Exceptional leadership and communication skills are also required, to assist in dealings with team members, subcontractors, clients, consultants and other external parties.

It is essential that you possess experience with SPACE GASS design software and knowledge of RAPT is desirable. Knowledge of REVIT is also desirable. A detailed understanding of relevant standards for timber framing, concrete, brick/block and steelwork structures and their practical application to the building industry will be viewed favourably as well. Experience with structural design concepts applicable to low rise residential, commercial and industrial buildings is essential.
