Structural Steel Contract Administrator

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural Steel Contract Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of contracts related to Structural Steel projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints. The successful candidate will also assist the project managers with general project administration duties where required.

Responsibilities:

• Review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and variation orders related to Structural Steel projects.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and engineers to clarify project requirements and resolve any contractual issues.
• Coordinate the preparation of bid documents, including cost estimates, project schedules, and technical specifications.
• Monitor contract performance, including progress payments, material deliveries, and subcontractor agreements.
• Track project milestones and deadlines to ensure timely completion and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress, address any construction-related issues, and ensure compliance OHS responsibilities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and architects to optimise project delivery and mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate and organised contract documentation, including correspondence, drawings documentation and associated project records.
• Provide regular reports and updates to management on contract status, project milestones, and potential risks or delays.
• Liaise with all stakeholders within Metwest Steel to co-ordinate fabrication/treatment/delivery process in line with project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in contract administration, preferably in the construction or steel fabrication industry would be favourable.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents (Structural Steel shop drawing experience would be advantageous).
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with the use of CAD software would be advantageous).
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Structural Steel fabrication processes and it's roles within the construction industry. 
• Experience working with current Western Australian building companies/Structural Steel fabricators on local construction projects.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and OHS standards.
