Lifeline Northern Beaches (‘LLNB’) is a suicide prevention charity supporting people going through a wide range of difficulties, from anger, anxiety and depression, to family, relationship and financial problems. Our team in the 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services are committed to empowering people to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.

Role

Reporting to the Crisis Support Manager, the Student Coordinator responds to a range of operational requirements that underpin the delivery of year-round Crisis Supporter Workplace Training (‘CSWT’). The Student Coordinator is the first point of contact for CSWT students during their initial training and further supports them as they transition through their student placement and internship through to full accreditation. 

The key responsibilities of the Student Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain regular communication with each student in person and remotely to provide ongoing support while keeping the In-Shift Supervisors and Crisis Support Manager informed of any significant challenges the student may experience
• Keep CSWT Salesforce database updated
• Ensure high quality student support is provided by nominated mentors, organise coaching to students if required
• Liaise with Lifeline Northern Beaches' CSWT Trainers and Lifeline Australia Training team regarding training and student concerns 
• Maintain a compliant RTO student record database; tracking and uploading accreditation requirements
• Contribute to a smooth transition from initial training to student placement by ensuring assessed shifts are booked in and organised with mentors 
• Comply with all the relevant LLNB’s Policies and Procedures, incorporating LLA operations manual
• Organise Mentor training workshops.

Desired experience and attributes

• Demonstrated experience in an administrative role
• Experience in the delivery of adult education programs (highly regarded)
• Knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and Australian qualifications framework (AQF)
• Working knowledge of CARE assessment requirements for CSWT
• Advanced computer skills, in particular with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel) and databases
• Ability to work independently and interdependently and manage time appropriately, honestly and flexibly
• Meticulous record-keeping, data entry and management skills with high attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work constructively and supportively with staff, volunteers and students.
