The Opportunity

As the Student Placement Officer, you are responsible for ensuring student work-based training placements are coordinated successfully and in a timely manner. Working closely with Faculty staff and professional/industry partners within the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and other Faculties, you will be supporting the department in employability initiatives too. The Student Placement Officer undertakes a broad range of operational activities in support of Student Placements & employability initiatives. Your duties will include recruitment of placements, coordination of student allocation to placements, processing of placement contracts, compliance checks, data entry, database maintenance and active participation in employability initiatives.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Work in a cross-cultural environment and dedicate yourself to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Report to the Industry Partner and Employability Manager and collaboratively work together for the best students’ outcomes.
  • Deliver the best customer service to students and employers by exceeding expectations.
  • Prepare regular reports and present data on placement statistics, trends and outcomes to relevant stakeholders including administrators and academic leadership.
  • Ensure that the placement process complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of student records as required.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to understand the specific skill sets and requirements of various fields of study.
  • Provide high level advice and interpretation of vocational placement guidelines to all stakeholders, including students prior to and during vocational placement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of Student Placements, tracking progress, and collecting feedback to enhance future opportunities.
  • Assist with students’ communications by collecting and publishing information beneficial to the student’s employability experience at Stanley College as instructed.
  • Always provide clear communications to students, management team and colleagues, by embracing a proactive approach, respect and positive language.
