$78,854 to $87,624 P.A (HEW 5) PLUS 17% SUPERANNUATION
ONGOING, FULL-TIME, JOONDALUP/MT LAWLEY CAMPUS

OVERVIEW
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional to join the School of Arts and Humanities. We are looking to recruit a Senior School Officer (Student Placements) to support our growing work integrated learning program across a wide variety of disciplines.

THE ROLE
The role will focus on supporting the School’s work integrated learning program, with a particular focus on providing support for the management of Student Placements; including student mandatory checks, placement agreements, and the maintenance of student placement records. You will be required to engage with external and internal stakeholders and be responsible for ensuring the effective flow of information to and from the School and key stakeholders. When problems arise, you will be expected to generate solutions in consultation with academic staff and senior colleagues and implement them successfully. On occasion, you may be required to assist with other general administrative work in the School, which may involve contracts, human resource management, financial processes and information management.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You will be a self-motivated, solutions-focused individual who thrives in a busy and complex environment and enjoys working collaboratively in support of students, colleagues and external stakeholders. You will have experience in supporting student placement programs in higher education, and your expertise in working with the SONIA student placement management system will be highly regarded. You will have great attention to detail, especially in data management and in written communication, as well as a capacity to support academic members of the School to complete tasks.

You will work in a supportive environment as a member of the School’s Operations Team, reporting to the Team Leader, Teaching and Research Services. On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with academic and professional colleagues as you support Student Placements across the School. You will regularly interact with both students and key external stakeholders.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Required

  1. Knowledge and experience of student placement management; including securing placements, creation and management of agreements, placement risk management, and stakeholder relationship management.
  2. Ability to work collaboratively in support of students, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  3. High level communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and network effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Precise attention to detail, with the ability to use initiative to identify problems, think creatively about their resolution, and know when to escalate problems to their manager for assistance.
  5. Independence in working on directed goals and tasks and managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Desirable

 6. Experience and expertise with the SONIA student placement management system.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
