Thornlie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Student Support Coordinators for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Student Support Coordinators will assist in the day to day running of a variety Student Support programs and initiatives and should ensure an effective and responsive service for students. Working within a dynamic Student Services team, Student Support Coordinators oversee attendance and engagement processes, as well as community supports, social and emotional learning programs, and 1:1 or small group support for tier 2 students at educational risk.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, negotiate and resolve conflict.
- Well developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Well developed research, conceptual and analytical skills and experience in identifying problems and developing appropriate intervention strategies and support programs.
- Skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students who are experiencing difficulties.
- Knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services
