Student Support OfficerMarist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.The Student Support Officer (Diverse Learners) role provides high level support to the Program Leader of Academic Equity, teachers and students identified through the Centre for Learning Enrichment. Their role is one that enhances the outcomes for students with individual learning needs. This may include students with limited literacy, numeracy and organisational skills and students requiring social emotional/sensory and students requiring enrichment or extension.This position is a part-time, term-time, continuing position remunerated at the School Officers Classification Level 4 of the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools of Queensland 2023-2026 ($35.90 per hour). Hours of work can be negotiated to be between 2 or 4 days (15 - 30 hours) per week.We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a similar environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
- Certificate Level qualifications in Educational Support, equivalent qualifications or recognised experience relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of students with diverse learning needs.
- Proficient computer literacy with the Microsoft suite of IT applications and other applications (e.g., assistive technologies) is desirable.
- Demonstrated high level written communication
- Effective communication and high level of interpersonal skills to develop constructive relationships with teachers, students, parents, and other
- Relevant qualifications or experience working in a similar environment
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage work with attention to detail;
- High level computing and communication skills – written, oral and verbal.
