About The Role:
Reporting to the Mining Asset Manager, you will have 9 direct reports and over 90 indirect reports and your role will be responsible for the management and delivery of the maintenance repairs to Newmont Boddington Operation’s Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Loading, and Fabrication workshop in support of operational requirements.
The role also will have line leadership of our site Asset health team, Fabrication QA/QC team and Project Engineers. This role will lead our Shovel and Fabrication Maintenance Teams in conjunction with key onsite Business Partners to ensure compliance with all safety, environment, community, business and commercial aspects of the operation.
In This Role You Will:
- Coordinate the effective maintenance of the mine loading fleet and fabrication services for all of Mine Maintenance to support budgeted deliverables of the Mining Operation. The fleet includes, but not limited to; electric rope shovels, large hydraulic face shovels and hydraulic excavators, fabrication repairs to all HME.
- Support, manage and implement Newmont’s work management program.
- Provide leadership and direction to all direct and indirect reports to ensure the safest and most efficient mining operations to achieve production targets.
- Provide input into the strategic planning process for all mobile assets including capital projects within area of responsibility.
- Complete and review incident investigations to ensuring all causes have been identified to ensure controls can be implemented to reduce the level of risk.
- Act as delegate for the Asset Management Manager as required.
- The major challenge of this role is to ensure that all mining equipment is available in the most efficient manner in accordance with budget and business plan targets, as well as managing the performance of owner maintenance and third party vendors.
Your Skills, Training & Experience Checklist:
- A Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualifications with post trade qualifications desirable.
- Significant management or senior supervisory experience in a large open cut mining operation with a diverse range of equipment.
- Working knowledge of Asset Management work management practices
- Substantial Mine Maintenance experience in a similar role in a large open cut mine.
- Ability to multitask and operate in a disciplined, effective manner within a high intensity environment for extended time frames.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent oral communication skills with a proven ability to influence, involve and gain the cooperation and consensus of a diverse group of stakeholders, ensuring short term operational objectives are achieved in a safe, efficient manner.
- Advanced PC skills and computer literacy including experience with ERP software packages, reporting tools and production monitoring/Fleet Management System tools.
