The Role:
The newly created Supervisor Facility Services is a key operational role in the Building Operations branch who reports to the Coordinator Community Buildings. We are seeking an individual that is highly organised with developed leadership skills to oversee the Cleaning Services team ensuring the needs and standards of internal stakeholders are met in delivering presentable facilities to the community.
This position will require the Supervisor to work one day per week in each of the three Recreation Centres to also oversee stockholdings, along with reviewing maintenance tasks to report back to Building Operations. The remaining time they will be based out of the Civic Centre completing site audits, staff training, development, rostering and scheduling, along with assisting in minor capital works replacement programs and equipment servicing.
About you:
To be successful in the role you will need to have previous experience in leading a team. The City’s values of Accountability, Excellence, Innovation and Respect are essential in supporting and developing the team, along with meeting stakeholder requirements and, maintaining and improving the City’s high standard of service delivery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to effectively liaise with team members and the community.
Strong decision-making skills are required to promptly resolve unplanned situations that arise, along with implementing improved process and procedural changes.
Although not mandatory, this role will suit an applicant with a trade background, looking to move into management as a ‘hands-on’ approach will be beneficial, along with a technical understanding for assisting in capital works replacement programs. At times the role will require you to work autonomously.
