Work Location: Flying Fish (Eliwana) - Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 8D6R7N7R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, our Flying Fish operation is seeking highly experienced Mining Supervisors with a passion for people and leading teams to success. This role will be focused on providing coaching and leadership support to New to Industry teams who share a vision of being the safest and most efficient Mining group. The Mining Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of Load & Haul functions within the Road Train operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and effective supervision of a Load and Haul production team including the coaching, mentoring and development of New to Industry personnel
- Provide visible positive leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values, whilst managing the effective utilisation of the mining fleet
- Manage expectation setting and performance reviews of team members to ensure a successful pathway is built for all team members
- Providing support and input into mine planning processes to ensure mining plans are achievable and allow for efficient mining
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders to execute the daily mine plans safely and efficiently
- Proven experience in a Mining Supervisor or a Leading Hand role with a passion for coaching and people development
- Experience in operating Road trains in a mining environment
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to engage and empower large teams alonside a proven commitment to safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong understanding of efficiency drivers in a large-scale mining operation
- Knowledge of WA Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulation
