Accelerate your career with this leadership opportunity in the George Fisher Mine, Fill & Services Department. Reporting to the Superintendent – Fill & Services, this residential role based in Mount Isa will require you to work on a 7/7 continuous shift roster. This staff position will see you lead and supervise a team of underground operations personnel. You will be responsible for leadership and supervision of your team, and management of multiple tasks across all areas of the mine.
The position is responsible for:
- Coordinating the Fill & Services team to execute the mine plan in relation to paste, construction & services work
- Planning of the shift and allocating the correct personnel and equipment to required tasks in order to achieve the mine plan safely and efficiently
- Achieving KPI’s & compliance to the weekly plan
- Supervising the Raisebore & Diamond Drill team on nightshifts & weekends
- Responsible for completing workplace observations and inspections
- Communicating accurate and relevant information and insight to line management on performance for each shift, 24 hour period and against the weekly plan
- Ensuring shift handover is successfully managed
- Ensuring safety practices and procedures are followed in accordance with all site specific policy
The successful applicants will have:
- 5+ years’ previous underground mining experience;
- S1,2 and 3 competencies;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Strong technical knowledge of underground mining (sub-level open stope mining favourable)
- Competency in MS Office are essential;
- Recognisable commitment to safety, quality and best practice concepts.
- Knowledge of and experience with SAP (highly regarded)
