We currently have One (1)x Permanent Part-time Vacancy available for immediate filling at 0.4FTE with the possibility of additional hours.

About the role

This position coordinates daily Visitor Services operations, including high presentation standards of exhibition areas, tour-guiding, some public programs, admissions, customer service, and public liaison; and ensures safety and security to the public and the Museum collection. A strong customer focus with a teamwork emphasis and can-do attitude is crucial for this role.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who works well in a positive team environment, enjoys a challenge, and wants to make a difference.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Supervise a large team including rostering, timesheets, and overseeing the daily allocations of staff.
  • Respond to the needs of a large cultural institution including daily operations and other events, as required.
  • Have excellent customer service skills in dealing with public, educational institutions, and VIP visitors, with a passion and understanding of what makes a great visitor experience.
  • Good knowledge of the arts and culture sector is an advantage.

  1. Demonstrated high level of problem solving, organisational and time management skills, using a range of computer applications.

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

We also require the following:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia; and
  • A Working with Children Check will be required for this role.
