About the role
The Supplier Management Specialist is responsible for the execution and ongoing evolution of Sydney Waters Supplier Management Framework and Governance Model supporting Sydney Water business stakeholders and suppliers. The framework consists of the Supplier Management lifecycle and its level three (L3) processes which include Supplier Onboarding, Supplier Segmentation, Supplier Profiling and Due Diligence, Supplier Governance, Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Supplier Relationship Development.
This position will see you responsible for, but not limited to:
- Deploy Supplier Performance Management for all tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers identified through Supplier Segmentation. This is a critical task for this role.
- Develop, manage, and collaborate KPI frameworks and scorecards for tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers identified through Supplier Segmentation.
- Facilitate, when required, tier 1 SRM supplier business reviews, forums or off sites encouraging strong supplier relationships and development with critical suppliers.
- Provide guidance and SME support to business stakeholders on Supplier Management level 3 processes within the Supplier Management framework which include Supplier Onboarding, Supplier Segmentation, Supplier Profiling and Due Diligence, Supplier Governance, Supplier Performance Management, SRM and Supplier Relationship Development.
- Create and maintain all L3 process frameworks.
- Develop and execute level 4 procedures within the Supplier Management Framework and Governance Model.
- Be the custodian of the Supplier Onboarding process, which includes Supplier Prequalification.
- Execute the Supplier Segmentation process cyclically, in partnership with the category team and other business stakeholders, in identifying Sydney Water’s tier 1 (SRM), tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers.
- Perform Supplier Profiling and Due Diligence for tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers cyclically and for ad hoc requests from business stakeholders.
About you
This role will best suit an initiative-taker with demonstrated experience working in a Supplier Management Framework across all Supplier Management L3 processes particularly in Supplier Performance Management across multiple categories.
To be successful in this position you will need to:
- Relevant degree qualification (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Business) or experience deemed equivalent.
- Professional Procurement (e.g., MCIPS) qualification desirable, but not mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of Supplier Management, most notably in Supplier Performance KPIs and Supplier Lifecycle Management.
- Have demonstrated the skills in Influence business stakeholders across multiple businesses.
- 5+ years’ experience working in Supplier Management and/or category management in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector.
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with the business to develop and evolve strategic supplier relationships to deliver sustained value to the organisation.
- ERP systems experience, preferably SAP.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
