Australasian Global Exports is seeking a skilled and experienced Supply Chain Manager with a focus on the export of high-value breeding livestock from Australia to global markets.
Key Responsibility
- Oversee all facets of the Supply Chain, encompassing procurement, inventory management, quarantine, logistics, and distribution of livestock.
- Research and adapt buying and quarantine strategies in response to livestock import/export regulatory changes in both Australia and destination countries.
- Establish targets and plans for each export consignment, optimizing quarantine selection through negotiations with agents/buyers.
- Ensure compliance with Australian government regulations/laws from sourcing and buying to livestock delivery, quarantine, and export.
- Monitor stock costs by supervising purchase quantities, reject rates, and evaluating daily buying updates. Collaborate with agents/buyers to maintain inventory at reasonable levels through a comprehensive assessment of stock data.
- Track NLIS system updates for accurate and timely animal transfers. Notify government authorities of livestock movements and secure confirmation of approval.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and major partners, fostering effective collaboration and communication.
- Evaluate and manage staff performance based on task completion, offering regular and constructive feedback.
About You

- Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain or distribution is a fundamental requirement. Candidates with a demonstrated track record, particularly those with over 5 years of experience in senior roles within distribution and Supply Chain management, will be given due consideration.
An extensive comprehension of the global Supply Chain is crucial, especially within the context of the livestock export industry. Additionally, knowledge of federal government and local government regulations, compliance, and industry standards pertaining to the international movement of livestock is essential.
- Effective negotiation skills are imperative when dealing with international partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Furthermore, the candidate should showcase demonstrated leadership skills, emphasizing the ability to effectively manage and guide team members.
