We are seeking an exceptional Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join this leading timber wholesaler, to spearhead and optimize the Supply Chain operations spanning across Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be instrumental in refining procurement strategies, nurturing supplier relationships, and ensuring the seamless flow of materials within the timber industry ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to facilitate the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
- Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, pricing dynamics, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
- Lead and mentor a team of Procurement and logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.
- Devise and implement risk management strategies to mitigate Supply Chain disruptions and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualified in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in procurement, Supply Chain management, and logistics with an in-depth understanding of the timber industry, including regulatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
- Excellent leadership, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with, motivate and develop a team.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing procurement strategies to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a focus on cultivating enduring supplier partnerships.
- Proficiency in data analysis with a keen analytical mindset.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
