Great opportunity to join a well-established Australian manufacturing Company that manufactures a range of “made to order” building products and solutions for their customers in every state of Australia in the residential building sector. The Company runs a medium-sized operation with a mix of production processes, a relatively fast-paced environment, and with short lead-time delivery requirements.
Reporting to the General Manager for the Region, as Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team, managing, and maintaining appropriate stock and inventory levels of all production materials for the business to meet production requirements and inventory KPI targets. This will entail: leading from the front, coaching, developing, and working with your team enabling them to achieve company objectives and perform to their fullest potential. In leading a proactive and unified team, you will also be involved in liaising with suppliers, operations team members, sales and estimating team members etc to ensure inventory levels match forward production schedules and customer orders can be fulfilled when required. Working with a relatively newly implemented ERP system, you will need to ensure accuracy and integrity of data including part #’s / descriptions of stock keeping units, ultimately managing a high number of SKU’s in order to be able to meet the variable demands in a fast moving “made to order” manufacturing environment. Specific KPI’s will revolve around: safety, inventory and warehouse control, customer service, DIFOT, ERP management, and continuous improvement processes. As a member of the Management team, the continual implementation of lean tools and processes to the business to improve performance and overall organization effectiveness and commercial gain is paramount.
With 7+ years’ experience in a similar role, you may have a Degree or Diploma in a Technical or related area and have worked in a mid-sized manufacturing business ($35M +) - preferably with made-to-order product with a fast turn-around & many variables - where you have managed and led a successful team in inventory & management (raw materials in and a manufacturing and delivery process). With strong analytical and critical thinking skills, you will have excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, be a “hands on” Leader, proactive, results and customer service focused, able to prioritise, problem solve and with excellent attention to detail. Further you will be organized and make considered decisions in a timely manner. You will be IT literate (including Excel AND ERP systems with a knowledge of inventory / warehouse management systems & processes) be energetic, driven, motivated, resilient, and an authentic leader wanting to make a real a real difference - and add real value as a proactive member of the Management team.
