The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs 500 people including contractors.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain Superintendent to oversee and optimize the Supply chain operations at our site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Supply chain process, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships, ensuring the seamless and cost-effective flow of materials and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Supply chain strategies to support mine operations, ensuring timely and efficient procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
- Support procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management with suppliers and vendors.
- Manage logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure efficient material flow and minimal disruptions.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce carrying costs while maintaining adequate supplies for continuous operations.
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, finance, and maintenance, to align Supply chain activities with production goals and budgets.
- Identify and mitigate Supply chain risks, implementing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards throughout the Supply chain process.
- Lead and mentor a team of Supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Analyse Supply chain performance metrics, generating reports and insights to drive decision-making and process enhancements.
- Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong experience in Supply chain management, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proven track record of managing complex Supply chain operations and delivering results in a high-demand environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Supply chain management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
