Hello, i am a female in my 30's living with an intellectual disability and borderline personality disorder. I am located in Hackham West and looking for Quality Support Workers to join my team.
I would like a Support Worker with an energetic and positive attitude, who can be fun, vibrant, and promote my independence. I would like someone who can create boundaries to keep me safe and provide my guidance when needed. I am looking for a Support Worker who has a person-centred approach and can listen carefully to my needs, as well as respect my house rules and choices. I am strong minded and looking for someone with patience, understanding and a good listener.
I enjoy being involved in new events, visiting the zoo, swimming, fishing, making crafts and cooking. As well as, learning new things, talking to my friends, listening to music and footy!

The Role
I have opportunities to join my team in both a casual and permanent part time basis. My team support me to facilitate my daily life and encourage my interdependence.
I am currently supported on a 1 to 1 roster throughout the day and have passive overnights.
Due to some of the challenges i face, i can find it hard to build trusting relationships.
In this instance, i would require you to show my patience and persistence.
I live with my beautiful cat and it is important to me that you are comfortable around him and can assist me to look after him.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist me with Assisted Daily Living Tasks
- Medication prompts
- Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
- Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
- Actively engage in person centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.
Role requirements
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Experience in working with people who have complex needs associated with a moderate to severe mental illness and psychosocial disabilities.
- Experience working with people with Mixed Personality Disorder with Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorder
- Experience managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices (Desirable)
- Demonstrated oral and written communication, and organisational skills
Mandatory Requirements
- Certificate III (minimum) or Certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support (or related)
- Current NDIS Worker Clearance
- First Aid Certificate & CPR
- Driver's license
- Vehicle that will pass a roadworthy test to transport participant.
- Must satisfy all Visa requirements to work in Australia
- Ability to apply computing concepts
