Within the Aged and Disability department AccessCare, the Community Support team assists people to remain living in their own homes and stay connected to their community with transport to essential services and social activities.
The role
We are seeking a Support Worker to join the Community Bus Social Engagement team based at Dingley Village. Reporting to the Community Access Coordinator, your role is to:
- Assist the community bus drivers with carrying out tasks within the Social Engagement program in a safe, enjoyable, and courteous manner.
- Encourage client participation and foster social interaction with the group members
- To observe the health and wellbeing of passengers and report any concerns in a confidential, non-judgemental manner.
- Engage with a range of stakeholders external to AccessCare, to support passengers in a range of activities.
About you
You will have:
- a current First Aid Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one)
- a current driver's licence and your own registered and insured vehicle
- current police check
- a current Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support/Aged Care/Disability.
