About the role
This position works closely within the allocated Surgical Unit and with the Surgical Liaison Nurse to manage patients waiting for planned surgery. The position requires the clerk to work with the Liaison Nurse to ensure the best outcomes for planned surgery patients. This requires the clerk to take responsibility for timely referral of patients to the waiting list, timely scheduling of planned dates, and ensuring patients are prepared for surgery. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients waiting for planned surgery.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
• Proven experience and ability to provide an efficient customer service
• Proficient in IT Software including Microsoft Office software (E.g. word, excell, Outlook, TEAMs)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast paced environment
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
