SalaryWe are welcoming applications from experienced Veterinary Nurses with a passion for surgery and patient care, looking to join our wonderful team at Vetwest Ballajura.
Our fully equipped clinic hosts quality, modern facilities to deliver the best in veterinary care for pets. Our equipment includes digital radiology, IDEXX in-house Pathology, IM3 dental machine, Cardell and BM5 patient monitoring systems and a Doppler blood pressure monitor. We house four consult rooms, one surgical theatre, a separate dog ward, an isolation ward, wet table, and Puppy Preschool classes.
About the role:
- Part-time hours: 25 to 30 hours per week.
- Performing clinical nurse exams.
- Monitoring anaesthetics through patient procedures and recording of patient vitals.
- Calculate and administer treatments and care plans including fluid therapy plans and prescribed medications.
- Assist the Veterinarian to provide aid and treatment to patients.
- Preparing patients for surgery and assisting in surgical procedures.
- Maintaining the theatre, prep area and all surgical equipment and materials.
- Administrating pain relief, sedation, antibiotics with guidance by Veterinarian.

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or the equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a surgical/Veterinary Nurse.
- Positive work ethic and ability to successfully work independently and within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Remain calm and react quickly in stressful and emergency situations.
- Exceptional communication skills both with clients and colleagues.
- Displays a high degree of empathy and understanding towards the needs of the patients, the clients, and the veterinary health care team.
