System Engineer

• Initial 6 Month Contract
• Port Melbourne and Geelong Location/WFH Hybrid Options
• 80% Infrastructure System Engineer, 20% Business Analyst

This Victorian government agency is looking for a Systems Engineer to jump onboard and assist with the mapping out of their infrastructure and server environment. This Systems Engineer will work with the project team to see how best deliver Infrastructure solutions/upgrades in the most efficient manner.

You will be responsible for:

• Working with the project team to see how best deliver Infrastructure solutions/upgrades
• Mapping out their system (infrastructure and server environment)
• Ensuring applications are stable and functional and provide input into the planning of future systems.
• Evaluating and selecting appropriate software or hardware and suggesting integration methods
• Investigating and conducting research as required on business and technical issues associated with projects.
• Conducting requirement gathering and looking at business processes.
• Conducting and facilitating workshops.

Skills and experience

• Background working as a Systems Engineer with Business analytics experience.
• Consultative and open minded, with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional knowledge in MS Office Application Suite
• Strong vendor engagement and management skills
• Experience in the provision of system documentation which can be understood by non-technical staff
• Solid stakeholder engagement and management skills
• Demonstrated skills and experience supporting enterprise applications in a complex service delivery environment;
