About the Company:
Based on Sydney's North Shore, our client is a true leader within the education and learning sector with over 4000 students and 1200 employees situated across 3 campuses.
This organisation has been in operation for approximately 100 years and has all I.T services in-house with a total of 17 in the Technology department reporting into a CIO.
The organisation is looking for a System & Network Engineer on a permanent full-time basis and would require someone on-site 5 days a week.
Major accountabilities of this role will include:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects;
- Ensure all IT Infrastructure is maintained and operational;
- Support and administration for all on-premises and virtualised infrastructure (Windows & VMware);
- Troubleshooting and administration of the Cisco Routers and Palo Alto Firewalls;
- Managing backups, disaster recovery and patching;
- Supporting endpoint management and monitoring;
- Provide mentorship and support to other team members; and
- Improve on technology documentation.
Skills & Experience
Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key experience/capabilities:
- 3-5 years of experience in a System or Network Administrator role;
- Hands-on experience with configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls;
- Extensive experience with Windows Server & VMWare;
- Experience working on a variety of infrastructure projects advantageous;
- Experience in cloud migrations advantageous;
- Experience with monitoring tools; and
- Clear and articulate communication skills, strong time management skills and high attention to detail.
