One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage multiple System Administrators to manage QA and Production equipment and ensure the continued operation and improvement of services. The role will be based in Canberra with the successful System Administrators to be offered a 24-month contract partnered with extension options. A Top Secret Positive Vetting clearance (TSPV) is required for this role.
The successful System Administrators will be responsible for the below:
- Maintain system administration processes and check that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures
- Troubleshoot issues in accordance with established procedures and recommend required actions and supports / follow up to ensure these are implemented
- Develop scripts or small programs, in software languages such as Python or Bash, to automate business processes
- Manage alerting and reporting through monitoring systems such as Splunk and Graphana.
The successful System Administrators will have experience in the following:
- Demonstrable experience managing Linux and/or Windows servers
- Experience in an ICT service environment, including user access control, service monitoring, patching and outage management
- Administrative skills, including time management and oral and written communication skills; and demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and allocate tasks
- ICT management, including development of procedures, capacity planning,troubleshooting and continuous improvement over the ICT system lifecycle
