Your responsibilities will include:
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and platforms, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders across the Company with respect to ICT operations and services.
Implement and support ICT operations and sustainment of enterprise services (hardware & software).
Install, configure and maintain virtual infrastructure solutions (VMware, MS Hypervisor, RHEV).
Update and resolve assigned incidents and service requests.
Ensure system documentation and performance levels are maintained at all times.
Manage and maintain system backups.
About you:
Tertiary qualifications from an accredited institution in a related discipline (typically Information Technology), and/or equivalent experience/combined education.
Experience in delivering a high level of systems administration support in a medium to large organisation.
Knowledge and experience within technologies and domains including Linux, UNIX & Windows, troubleshooting communications networks, deployment of new hardware, heating and cooling paradigms in computing environments, networking standards.
