THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a versatile and experienced IT and Business professional to join our client’s team. In this role, you will focus on analysing business requirements and designing information systems solutions to address those needs. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and create detailed system specifications.
Key areas of responsibility and accountability:
Data Analysis and Documentation:
- Analyse data to extract insights for process improvement.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system manuals and user guides.
Project Management and Stakeholder Communication:
- Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet objectives.
- Act as a liaison between technical team members/vendors and business stakeholders.
Risk Assessment and Training:
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Conduct training sessions for business users and provide ongoing technical support.
Process Improvement and Requirement Gathering:
- Continually review and enhance business processes for efficiency.
- Gather and document business requirements for IT systems/projects.
System Testing and Vendor Management:
- Coordinate and perform testing of new systems and enhancements.
- Work with external vendors to leverage their technologies for business needs.
System Design, Implementation, and Integration:
- Lead the design and development of complex systems, considering operational requirements.
- Define system requirements and architecture, and ensure compatibility and performance.
- Integrate system components for cohesive architecture and conduct troubleshooting.
Technical Expertise, Support, and Continuous Improvement:
- Provide technical guidance throughout the system lifecycle.
- Support system deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate on implementing best practices.
ABOUT YOU
You have the ability to bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business needs, focusing on designing and implementing practical solutions. With your adaptability, creativity, and process-oriented thinking, along with a blend of technical insight and business acumen, you excel in small team environments to drive effective systems improvement.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Information Technology and Information Systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Analyst or a similar role with expertise around ERP development and maintenance.
- Previous ERP/MES application experience in manufacturing (preferred).
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, and an ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis and propose appropriate solutions.
- Proficiency in embracing team diversity, harnessing multiple viewpoints, and capitalising on individual strengths.
- Demonstrated capability to embrace change positively, seeing it as an opportunity for learning and process enhancement, and inspiring others to adopt a similar mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- A strong track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
- Proficiency in system design tools, architecture frameworks, and system modeling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software configuration, system integration, and system testing.
- Strong technical skills in areas such as networking, operating systems, databases, and cybersecurity.
Desirable:
- Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
