Working as a permanent member of Saab’s Naval Combat Systems division, the Systems Engineer will be embedded within the CSI-IPT and be required to apply their extensive Systems Engineering knowledge and leadership to support the design of the Hobart Class combat system.
They will report to the DDG Design Modelling and Platform Integration Lead and conduct compartment design engineering activities, which lead to the delivery of an integrated combat system end-product.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Review and evaluation of equipment/product technical and compartment documentation
- Prepare and/or review Compartment / Platform Interface data packs, including participation in Compartment Design Working Groups.
- Develop CREO models and Library Parts for CS Equipment
- Provide Support to Specialty Engineering (HSI, Topside, Cyber) for 3D drawing views
- Work with the Platform System Designer (PSD) to develop Functional / Physical Compartment Integration
- Review FPS, CSSS, Subsystem specifications from a Platform Engineering perspective.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Systems Engineering role, preferably Defence projects.
- Experience related to functional integration of systems with a preference for those used within the Maritime environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Experience liaising with internal/external stakeholders (i.e. CoA, USN, PSD, OEMs, Shipbuilder) in order to meet information and integration requirements.
- Demonstrable experience working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals.
