Description:Lucid Multi Cloud is seeking an experienced and driven Systems Engineer with proficiency in VMware technologies to join our dynamic IT team.
The candidate should have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems with a focus on virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
As a Systems Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that both our internal and our client’s IT infrastructure is robust, scalable, secure, and aligns with the business objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement enterprise-level systems and infrastructure solutions, focusing on VMware environments.
2. Plan, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vCloud Director and other VMware technologies.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment of infrastructure initiatives with business objectives.
4. Maintain a high-availability, scalable, and secure infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
5. Lead migration efforts from physical to virtual environments and/or from on-premises to cloud platforms.
6. Develop and implement procedures for backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
7. Participate in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning of systems.
8. Establish and enforce IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures.
9. Participate in ongoing evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
10. Coordinate with vendors and partners for procurement and support.
11. Provide tier-3 support, troubleshooting complex issues, and serving as an escalation point for support teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, with an emphasis on VMware technologies.
3. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification required.
4. VMware Cloud Director experience required.
5. VMware Networking and Security Virtualisation (NSX) experience required.
6. Prior experience operating within the ITIL framework.
7. Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and security concepts in a virtualized environment.
8. Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an asset.
9. Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
10. Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
11. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
12. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
14. Must be available for after-hours support and maintenance, as needed.
