Are you ready to take on a pivotal role as our Talent Acquisition Specialist? We're on the hunt for a talent magnet who thrives in a high-energy, ever-changing environment.
 
As a member of a highly functioning Operations team, you will be responsible for critical functions that ascertain the Company’s need for people. You will be working closely with management to distill those required capabilities and then use your proven, tried-and-tested methods to support any resourcing that may be required. Also, you will be required to assist with other HR tasks from time to time. as directed.


You will be required to have 3–4 years of in-house recruitment and Talent Acquisition experience in Canberra, preferably in the niche market of management and technical consulting services. You will be required to be fluent with renowned external platforms such as Seek and LinkedIn, and internally, it is desirable if you are familiar with JobAdder and Employment Hero. As part of this role, you must have impeccable communication skills (both written and verbal).

What to expect in this role 
Working as a core part of our People and Place team, you will lead and drive recruitment and onboarding activities and provide support with other HR tasks from time to time as directed. This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our company’s most important service offering, ‘people’. You will work with a diverse group of skill sets and creatives to support scaling via our requisition, attraction, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
 
 
Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies (e.g., 3rd-party relationships, university partnerships) to attract high-quality candidates and fill vacancies across the company.
  • Engage with hiring managers to distill and document hiring requirements
  • Translate hiring requirements into job postings that are creative and engaging to attract top talent.
  • Manage the recruitment process and activities such as sourcing/identification of candidates for technical & non-technical roles, screening, interviews, reference checks, and developing position descriptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidates, talent pools, and the hiring process using our internal tools
  • Manage the conversion of original CVs into the company format using Allsorter
  • Coordinate client onboarding and ensure that all paperwork is completed by the new hire and submitted to the client in a timely manner
  • Coordinate internal onboarding and Offboarding activities and ensure that EH system and other tools (e.g. Valence) are updated accordingly
  • Coordinate internal company events such as Retreats, Summit, Planning day, EOFY dinners and awards, Christmas party, etc.
  • Occasionally assist with creating and issuing employment contracts and letters as directed
  • Occasionally Support quarterly performance and development review activities, such as scheduling meeting invites and ensuring that scorecards are updated accordingly and as directed
 
What makes you a great fit?
  • Available to work from our beautiful Canberra office Mondays to Fridays
  • 3–4 years of in-house recruitment or Talent Acquisition experience in technical or consulting roles in Canberra
  • Diploma qualification in Human Resource Management or related field 
  • 1-2 years of generalist HR experience 
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and sourcing strategies
  • Experience facilitating interviews. (Scheduling interviews and maintaining records)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships with peers and stakeholders across the business to support inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Competency in using ATS such as Job Adder and other HRIS – Employment Hero
  • Have a LinkedIn profile that you actively engage in
  • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in interactions with potential candidates and company employees.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a willingness to adapt to change.
  • Experience in agency recruitment for technical labor-hire roles in ACT will be an added advantage
