Manager Waste & Resource Recovery

We are looking for a motivated professional with highly developed communication and negotiation skills and the ability to create and lead an innovative team across the multiple Waste & Resource sites within Council.

Your strategic mind and extensive management experience will lead and influence Council to achieve continuously improved environmental outcomes.

The Manager Waste & Resource Recovery is responsible for:

  • Providing leadership in Waste and Resource Recovery including operational experience in waste management and Resource Recovery facility operations and large scale supplier of services and contract management
  • Managing people performance in a multi-site environment
  • Providing professional specialist advice including environmental sustainability, landfill engineering and design and asset management
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans including innovative strategies to achieve continuously improved environmental outcomes through the waste avoidance, reduction, reuse and recycling
  • Implementing effective communication strategies including quality customer service and facilitating collaboration and partnership building with external agencies
  • Managing risk
  • Managing budgets and financial plans including establishing and managing multimillion dollar contracts
  • Demonstrating initiative to identify, investigate and implement opportunities in the waste/Resource Recovery area to reduce landfill disposal
  • Leading and influencing change

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Drivers Licence
  • Degree or Diploma in Contemporary Leadership/Management or related discipline

Salary range: Grade 24 - $152,533.62 - $165,051.26 per annum plus superannuation and leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.
