The Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate & Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to our ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Statements & Tax Returns: You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for a variety of entities including individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts. This includes ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met, and that all financial statements comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strategic Financial Advice: You will provide strategic advice to clients on a range of issues such as financial planning, tax planning, cash flow management, and business structuring. This involves understanding the client’s business and financial situation, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Staff Management & Mentorship: You will manage a team of junior staff members, providing them with guidance, feedback, and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge. This includes setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and creating a positive and productive work environment.
- Liaison with Regulatory Bodies: You will act as the main point of contact for clients, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), and other regulatory bodies. This includes responding to queries, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients will be a key part of your role. This includes understanding their needs, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
- Continuous Learning & Development: In the ever-changing world of accounting, continuous learning and professional development are crucial. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, changes in tax laws, and best practices in accounting which will be supported through activities such as regular tax banter courses and updates.
Skills & Experience
- CPA or CA qualification (or nearing completion) with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of Australian tax laws and accounting standards.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
