This role will give you the opportunity to build and develop your skills while working closely with a friendly team and a Business Services and Taxation Principal. You will be responsible for providing high quality service to our client’s small businesses. You will develop further skills by leading client meetings for SMEs and researching and solving tax issues.
Remuneration will be based on your qualifications and experience. Part-time or full-time role will be considered.
About You:
As an Intermediate/Light Senior Accountant, you will be a key player in enabling R B Tax & Accounting Solutions in the next phase of growth. Your primary focus will be to prepare accurate and timely financial statements for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bachelor of Business/Commerce majoring in accounting with up to 5 years’ experience in public practice.
- Experience in preparation of financial statements
- Ability to research tax issues and provide practical outcomes for our clients
- Complete income tax returns for individuals, company’s, trusts, partnerships and super funds within the assigned deadline and productivity target.
- Identify if the client has complied with the superannuation guarantee.
- Preparation of annual payroll tax reconciliations.
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Preparation of Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) returns including the calculation of liability from the information provided by the client.
As the candidate, you need to have strong technical abilities, an eye for detail and ability to communicate to clients and team members at a high level.

Capabilities:
- Identify any inconsistencies in the current year balances through comparative analysis on balance sheet items.
- Prepare financial statements from an adjusted trial balance, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and statements of retained earnings.
- Deliver high quality work with minimal errors.
- MYOB AE, Tax Assist, Xero, Advanced MS Excel and MS Word software skills.
Knowledge:
- Broad understanding of income tax (and allowable measures to reduce tax), including fundamentals of trust law and superannuation provisions.
- Superannuation including taxation and regulatory issues.
- Business operations, structures and the dynamics of how they interact.
- Cash versus accruals basis of accounting.
- Use tax software efficiently and effectively to complete work within deadlines.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience.
- Preparation of accurate financial accounts without direction and with minimal review points.
Qualifications:
- CPA, CA or NIA
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or similar.
