The Opportunity

This role will join our Tax team and be part of the broader Financial Operations group where you will have exposure to a broad range of tax issues relevant to a publicly-listed group.

You will have a key role in providing tax compliance and tax management for the Liberty Group, as well as proactively initiating and facilitating operational process improvements and the use of effective tax practices.

What your day may look like:

• Preparing and lodging tax returns and activity statements, along with attending to the Group’s tax administrative requirements
• Analyse tax positions taken pursuant to tax legislation
• Undertake tax provision and tax-effect accounting for statutory financial reporting
• Compile and reconcile financial data for the purposes of tax compliance and reporting
• Provide smooth, reliable and accurate tax transaction processes
• Prepare, review, audit and lodge all tax compliance
• Proactively review income tax calculations and tax effect accounting
• Offer technical tax advice on new transactions and projects
• Work with business units to implement product changes which affect tax operations
• Engage with the relevant tax authorities in Australia and New Zealand

Enough about us, let’s talk about you:

We are looking for a Tax Analyst with:

• 5+ years experience within tax compliance and/or tax accounting
• Strong tax experience in income tax, GST, and FBT
• Exposure to New Zealand income tax and GST will be highly regarded
• Ability to communicate well and engage with stakeholders
• Exceptional excel skills to manipulate and present financial data
• Strong attention to detail
