Tax Reporting Change Manager – ContractOur client is large Global Corporate and a household brand. Due to some acquisitions and transformation within tax and Finance, we are looking for a Tax Professional with a background in Tax Accounting, Reporting and Processes to manage and drive change within the Australasian and APAC Region.
Job Purpose:
Reporting through to Group Tax in London, you will provide strategic direction and drive transformation of the tax accounting, reporting and governance processes in Australia and Pacific Islands to ensure full alignment with Europe.
You will support the Group Tax Accounting & Reporting team through data gathering, preparing, analysing and reviewing information linked to the Group’s IFRS Consolidated Financial Statements and other relevant documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of all IFRS tax accounting matters and computations included in the Group’s FS, footnotes, press releases and other public documents.
- Prepare and maintain the Group’s legal entity pre-tax profit forecast model and Effective Tax Rate model. Prepare analysis necessary to support the tax computations included in the Group’s FS and evaluation of tax planning initiatives.
- Maintain and update the tax pack used for consolidating the Group’s tax numbers. Provide support and guidance to pack preparers. Assist with the preparation, analysis and documentation supporting the recognition of deferred tax assets.
- Initial review of provision to return workings as well as data gathering and preparation of the computations supporting the timely recognition of period specific income tax matters.
- Assist in the compliance with all necessary tax accounting internal controls and appropriate documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and / or other Group prescribed requirements, including quarterly, semi-annual and annual submission of SOX control checklists.
- Assist in the coordination of the quarterly Tax Reserves and Audit Update meetings and assistance in the preparation of the Audit Committee disclosure slides.
- Prepare external advisors Client Assistance workpapers and assist in the representation and defence of the Group’s tax accounting positions with its external auditors.
- Prepare the computations for accounting for the Group’s global income tax reserves in accordance with IAS12 Income Taxes and IFRIC 23 Accounting for Uncertainties in Income Taxes
- Prepare and coordinate the monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliation files, including preparation of the quarterly summaries and explanations of variances required by EY and SOX controls.
- Primary reviewer of reconciliations provided by Finance team
- Drive change across the region to bring tax accounting and reporting processes in-line with group and head-office.
Experience Required:
- Tax Effect Accounting and Group tax consolidation experience preferably in a Group Tax, Shared Service Centre within multi-national organisation and / or Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firm.
- Understanding of general accounting and reporting in compliance with IFRS. Particular expertise in reporting for income taxes under IAS 12, IAS 34 and IFRIC 23/Tax Effect Accounting.
- Enterprise resource planning experience, preferably SAP,
- Experience working in a change environment,
- Ability to influence stakeholders and take them on a change journey,
- Minimum 8+ years' experience in Australian Corporate Tax and Accounting.
Qualifications Required
- University degree in Finance/Commerce or equivalent,
- CA or equivalent qualification or advanced status is an advantage.
