Lifeline WA provides all Western Australians experiencing a personal crisis or thinking about suicide with access to 24-hour Crisis Support and suicide prevention services.
Our 13 11 14 service is a nationally-routed Crisis Support number, available every day of the year, from any location in Australia. It is available to anyone - regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
Lifeline WA believes that almost all suicides are preventable and that by connecting vulnerable people with Crisis Support, these people can be kept safe. Our vision is working towards creating communities free of suicide. Our mission is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and create opportunities for emotional wellbeing.
ABOUT CRISIS SUPPORT SERVICES
Crisis Support delivers our 13 11 14 service - a nationally-routed Crisis Support number, available every day of the year, from any location in Australia. It is available to anyone - regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
Somewhere in Australia there is a new call to Lifeline every 32 seconds. Last year, more than 55,000 Western Australians contacted us for support via the 13 11 14 service. Many were after advice or self-help information for friends and family. Others were reaching out for someone to listen to their concerns. Typically, callers in crisis find that painful changes or problems are increasing their distress and overwhelming their capacity to cope.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build strong relationships with the Crisis Support team, volunteer and other stakeholders
• Update Crisis Supporter details, activity and other details as required
• Generate reports to provide insight into projects and initiatives.
• Work with the training team and manage administration and scheduling requirements of student cohorts
• Act as a system champion; train staff and volunteers to ensure the Better Impact system is understood by new and existing users; and helps the system to grow and evolve
• Schedule and manage other events and meetings
• Manage the annual accreditation process to ensure that compliance obligations are met
• Other duties as required
ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS
• Creativity, initiative, excitement about supporting a team
• Clear communication, both written and verbal, including ability to read, interpret, and follow rostering principles, award requirements, and adhere to organisational and teamwork processes and procedures.
• Excellent administration skills, including navigating a variety of technical platforms
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to enter and organise data and prepare standard reports.
• Competency in Microsoft applications, particularly excel
• Competency in the use of data bases and an understanding of reporting basics
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
