The Role
We welcome applications from educators who are suitably qualified, enthusiastic, and able to connect effectively with students. This part-time role (0.6FTE) involves teaching our middle year students to cover a maternity leave position. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the 2024 academic year, beginning in mid-term 2, with the possibility of extending into the 2025 academic year.
Key responsibilities and tasks include:
- Planning and implementing engaging Visual Art lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Middle Years students.
- Developing, documenting and delivering a comprehensive Art curriculum that aligns with the School's educational objectives.
- Fostering a creative and supportive learning environment where students can explore various art forms and develop their artistic skills.
- Providing constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their artistic abilities.
- Collaborating with colleagues to deliver the Middle Year Art Exhibition, as well as integrate Art into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Participating in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events as required.
- Contributing to the overall development of the School's Art program by sharing ideas for improvement and innovation.
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
- Current VIT
- First-Aid qualifications (HLTAID009 CPR Course, HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid & ASCIA anaphylaxis)
- Child Safety training – (provided by the school)
