Sydney Secondary College is a vibrant and inclusive multi-campus setting in the inner city, comprising of two Years 7 - 10 campuses (Leichhardt and Balmain) and one Year 11 - 12 campus (Blackwattle Bay). Sydney Secondary College Balmain Campus has a current enrolment of 860 students including 31 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. The school is a culturally diverse middle school with selective, enrichment, comprehensive and special education streams. All students are encouraged to achieve their personal best in an environment that provides academic challenges and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Strong parental and community partnerships are a feature of the school. Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Visual Arts (7-12) and willingness to teach Music.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and differentiate the curriculum for students of different abilities, with a specific focus on Middle Schooling.
Demonstrated capacity to engage students in the Creative and Performing Arts and support extra curricular programs.
Highly developed communication and organisational skills, with a capacity to contribute to collaborative practice within the faculty and on whole school programs.
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
